Another experiment, painting in oil, 5"x7". Lots of blending. Push, pull, feather it with thinner. Fun, but I want to get back to drawing and sculpting for a while.

Second pass, I added several more layers to every part. Storms threatened. We didn't get rained on, but I added grey clouds. A marathoner asked to have his photo taken. Artemis kept watch over the soldiers.

Oils are the digital of traditional art. Compared to watercolor, you can undo and re-do and noodle seemingly forever. At least that's my impression with my first experiments.

I added a salt-effect background and a frame with colors that worked well. Now this dinosaur has a new home. Delivery took place within the same building as William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Levar Burton, Michael Dorn, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, and Gates McFadden!
Plein Air at Scoville Park, Oak Park, IL : Work in Progress
Work-in-progress, early-morning watercolor painting of World War I monument. The morning started with a heavy, humid fog that took hours to burn off. Other than sitting in a hot fog, and a few bees, who took interest in my proximity to their flowers, I was pretty comfortable. My friend Ginny brought coffee!
