Blog : In Art Pursuit

I enjoy drawing, painting, and sculpting from direct observation - both in the studio and plein air. I also like to experiment with different tools and techniques. Following my blog will allow you to see examples of my work in progress and read about what was happening as I made them.

Commission a Painting of Your Happy Place

IMG_1668.JPG

I painted this scene of my client's Happy Place in watercolor, 9"x12". These stone steps are scattered with leaves at the height of Fall color and flanked by a wall of smooth river stones.

Where is your Happy Place? Where you met your spouse? Your favorite job? Where you go to relax and be yourself?

Enjoy your own, for yourself or to give as a gift. Please email me to commission your painting. Costs average $150-300 based on complexity.

'Away Team' Accepted to Chicago-themed show at Jackson Junge Gallery - Reception Nov 10, 6-10PM

I'm happy to be included in this show, popular among artists eager to honor the city. "We had an amazing response with more than 300 submissions from all over the city! After tallying the jurors’ scores, we are very pleased to inform you that your piece, “Away Team”, has been accepted!"

Please stop by to say hello 6-10 PM, Nov 10th at the Jackson Junge gallery. See 'Away Team' in person, in addition to a gallery full of artwork celebrating Chicago by a great group of artists at the In The 'Hood show!

I hope to meet you there. If you can't make the show, work will be on display until January 7th, 2018. " CHICAGO-Wicker Park's Jackson Junge Gallery presents In the 'Hoodon November 10, 2017 through January 7, 2018, with an artist's reception Friday, November 10, 2017 from 6-10pm. Free to the Public."

Jackson Junge described the show this way: "In the 'Hoodis a visual representation of Chicago's physical and cultural vastness. Chicago's rich history extends beyond the Loop and into the surrounding communities. This exhibition showcases artwork from 30 different neighborhoods that are an impactful representation of the North, South, and West Sides as well as Downtown and the Lakefront. These depictions take the form of an array of media from photography and painting to sculpture and works on paper."
